Mamadou Sakho has been named on Crystal Palace's short list for Fans' Player of the Year, despite having only featured eight times for the club this season.

Sakho, who joined on loan from Liverpool in the January transfer window, made his debut for the club in the 1-0 win against Middlesbrough at the end of February. Palace then went on a seven-game unbeaten run that included victories against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

The French defender's last appearance in a Palace shirt was in the defeat at home to Tottenham when he was carried off on a stretcher with the game still level at 0-0, Palace went on to lose that game 1-0.

Since then, Sam Allardyce's side have been beaten by Burnley and Manchester City and are still not mathematically safe from relegation. Victory at home against Hull on Sunday would guarantee a fifth season in the Premier League for Palace.
