Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer is unsure if Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will join the club this summer.
The 27-year old, who starred at Selhurst Park during his loan spell in the second half of last season, remains a part of the set-up in Merseyside but has not featured for Jurgen Klopp in pre-season.
And the France international was left out of Liverpool's squad for their Champions League qualifier with Hoffenheim on Tuesday, adding further speculation over his playing status.
Sky Sports News reported earlier this summer that Sakho has no future at the club and the Reds would be willing to let him go if their £30m valuation is met.
However, Palace boss de Boer is not certain the south London side will sign him before the August 31 deadline.
"I don't know," he said prior to Crystal Palace's game with Huddersfield on Saturday.
"He was a major impact last season, everybody knows what he did. He was not only good on the pitch but also in the dressing room.
"If you can get that kind of quality of player it always benefits your team."
De Boer confirmed he is looking to sign another goalkeeper, with long-serving stopper Julian Speroni and Wayne Hennessey his only options.
"We need another one, that's for sure," added De Boer.
"It depends what's in the market; whether it's a promising keeper or a player who will fight for the number one spot.
"It depends what's available - I'm happy with the performance of the two we have but we need another."
