Burnley defender Tom Anderson extends contract at Turf Moor

Defender Tom Anderson has signed a new two-year contract at Burnley with the option of a further year.

Anderson, 22, yet to make a senior appearance for the club, gained Football League experience with Carlisle in 2014 and Chesterfield last season.

After signing on at Turf Moor as an eight-year-old, Anderson progressed through the youth team set-up and was part of the side that reached the FA Youth Cup semi-final in 2012.

He was named as a substitute for the senior team on 10 occasions last season as Burnley won promotion to the Premier League.

Sean Dyche's side are currently in Evian preparing for the new season. They play Stade Nyonnais in their first friendly on Saturday evening.
