Joey Barton scored the winner for Burnley as the ran our 1-0 victors over Southampton at Turf Moor.
Barton came off the bench to find the net via a free-kick that took a deflection off Burnley team-mate Jeff Hendrick.
Southampton had gone close with chances through Dusan Tadic, Nathan Redmond and defender Virgil van Dijk.
Clarets defender Ben Mee put in a man-of-the-match performance and also sent two good shots wide for his team
But it was Barton who made the breakthrough on 78 minutes - his first goal since returning to the club on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
