Manager Sean Dyche predicted club record signing Andre Gray can spark new life into Burnley's attack after the Clarets won their first Sky Bet Championship game of the season.

Michael Keane's first-half header condemned Brentford boss Marinus Dijkhuizen to the first loss of his tenure, a 1-0 setback at Turf Moor, but Burnley struggled to finish the visitors off after the break.

The Clarets have scored just four league goals in four games so far and Dyche is confident that Gray, not involved here after signing for a reported £9m from Brentford on Friday, will not be the last signing before the transfer window closes.

"Overall, there's more to come," said Dyche. "I'm absolutely 100 per cent sure on that and Andre will bring something different. There's no guarantee, but Andre Gray's very hungry for success.

"I said we want to be productive in the market and we're still out there if the right move comes along. It's a tough market though. People are not letting their players go easily - neither did we.

"I think we deserved it in the end. There were some nerves around in the first half, everyone wanted that first win. It was important to get it and overall I think we deserved it.

"We created some big chances in the second half.

"The players are affected by the questions. There was a good mixture of grind and good play.

"We know defending is important, but we need players that bring that goal threat too. We have those players, and we've brought those players in too."

Meanwhile Dijkhuizen must fill the void left by Gray, who scored twice in the Bees' first two league games before his sale to Burnley.

The Dutchman admits it will be no small ask in a transfer market saturated by money.

"It's difficult to lose Andre Gray," said Dijkhuizen. "His goals won a lot of points. But it's been going on for a couple of weeks and now we can go on and start looking for a replacement.

"Is it a relief? Yes and no. I had a good relationship with him, and we now don't have a replacement on the bench so we are in need of two strikers.

"After a couple of months in England, I think there is too much money here. Clubs can buy much easier than they can in the Netherlands.

"We played the first half, in my view, better. We had good energy and put pressure on the ball and we created some very good chances.

"But we had to score, and we saw that with the Burnley goal. I think we were a bit unlucky to lose.

"I thought we played much better football in the first half, we just couldn't make the difference with the goals."
