Norwich could revive their bid to sign Everton forward Steven Naismith in January, according to Sky sources.

Norwich had a £7m bid for the Scotland international turned down in the summer, but Sky sources understands they are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Naismith in the New Year.

Earlier this month, Everton manager Roberto Martinez said he would make a decision on Naismith's future after the busy festive schedule.

The 29-year-old scored a hat-trick in the 3-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea at Goodison Park in September, but has seen his first-team opportunities limited due to the outstanding form of Romelu Lukaku.

Naismith told Sky Sports News HQ on December 10: "It's frustrating when you're not playing and it's hard to deal with in terms of building up in the week then adapting your training when you don't play so you are still fit and ready.

"I think the manager had mentioned about sitting down and talking to me and I'm sure he will do that. At the moment I just want to concentrate on helping Everton as a team.
