Alan Pardew is keen to talk to Norwich about the vacant manager’s job, according to Sky sources.
The former Crystal Palace boss is yet to be approached by the Canaries but would like to hear about the club's plans and ambitions to return to the Premier League.
Pardew, who was sacked by Crystal Palace in December and replaced by Sam Allardyce, is understood to be interested in knowing what the club's board would provide to help them mount a challenge for promotion next season.
Norwich sacked manager Alex Neil on Friday after two years in charge with the team in eighth place in The Championship table, nine points off a play-off place.
Alan Irvine took temporary charge of the team for the 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, a result which saw them slip to ninth position, and could remain caretaker boss for Saturday's game with Barnsley.
Gary Rowett and Steve Cotterill have also been linked with the Norwich job.
Rowett has been approached by Derby County about their managerial vacancy after the Rams sacked Steve McClaren on Sunday, according to Sky sources.
