WATCH: Nelson Oliveira's angry celebration after his equaliser for Norwich v Fulham
Saturday 5 August 2017 19:09, UK
Nelson Oliveira started on the bench for Norwich against Fulham on Saturday at Craven Cottage and it's fair to say he wasn't happy about it judging by his celebration after scoring the equaliser late on.
The Portugal international has been at the club since 2016 and scored 15 goals from 31 appearances in all competitions last season.
New Norwich boss Daniel Farke chose to begin the game with him on the bench, however, and with the Canaries failing to take their chances a 1-0 defeat looked on the cards.
Oliveira came off the bench with 25 minutes to go and got the equaliser in the 88th minute after collecting a stunning ball over the top from Wes Hoolahan and finishing well.
After scoring, the 25-year-old proceeded to rip his shift off and sprint towards the dugout, before turning the shirt around to reveal his name.
Oliveira approached manager Farke pointing to his name on the shirt clearly trying to make a point and then continued after his manager had given him a hug.
Farke, however, defender the striker's emotional celebration after the match.
"Nelson is from Portugal and very emotional," said former Borussia Dortmund reserve coach Farke. "It was really kind of him to show me the shirt. Hopefully that was not a sign for me because I can't do without him.
"He's a really good guy and has a good character but sometimes emotions burn a little bit in him. But there are no problems. I'm really content with the guy today and really happy with his movement.
"What he did was quite normal because all the players should want to play for 90 minutes in nearly 60 games this season. That's not possible as one of our greatest strengths is to have two of the best strikers in the whole league. We have to recognise the record of Cameron Jerome and his quality."
