A supporter launched an angry tirade against Coventry players after invading the pitch at the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday

A pitch invader angrily confronted Coventry players in their 1-0 home defeat to Sky Bet League Two strugglers Forest Green on Tuesday.

Keanu Marsh-Brown's first-half effort was enough to seal only a second league win of the season for Forest Green in what was the first meeting between the two sides.

Coventry's goal drought extended to 351 minutes following their failure to score against the visitors, and one supporter was so incensed he broke onto the pitch to protest against the City players.

The supporter leaped over advertising hoardings at the Ricoh Arena to close down Rovers winger Christian Doidge near the corner flag, before the referee stopped play.

The fan then began to angrily advance towards Coventry's Marc McNulty, before captain Michael Doyle attempted to restore peace.

Doyle escorted the pitch invader off the field of play, where - after beating his chest in front of the stands - he was eventually met by stewards.

The supporter was ejected by the stewards but not arrested.
