Millwall striker joins Clarets on loan

Burnley boss Eddie Howe has bolstered his attacking options by signing striker Josh McQuoid on loan from Millwall. The Northern Ireland international has agreed a deal which will see him stay with the Clarets for the next 93 days and he is set to make his debut against Derby on Saturday. Howe has seen Sam Vokes return to Wolves following the completion of his loan move, while Junior Stanislas and Martin Paterson are suffering from hamstring injuries. McQuoid's arrival in time for the weekend clash at Turf Moor gives Howe a welcome new face in his squad, and he knows the 22-year-old from their time together at Bournemouth. "From last week we have lost three players in Sam, Junior and Pato - three attacking options for us," Howe told the club's official website.

Versatile

"We felt we needed to bring one in. I thought that was vitally important and one really that played a various number of positions. "I think that was crucial to us, which is why Josh became so attractive. "He is a very talented young player who did really well for me at Bournemouth and scored a lot of goals and deservedly got a move to our level. I'm delighted to have him with us. "He's a versatile type of forward. He can play anywhere across the front line and he can play wide as well, which adds to his attractiveness for us. "He's quick, athletic and he's got a good attitude as well, so I hope he will do well for us."
