Chris Ramsey has admitted that Charlie Austin could still leave QPR in January if the club receives the right offer.
The striker previously told Sky Sports News HQ that he could not see himself moving on in the next transfer window, despite being linked with a move to Sunderland.
However, his manager has said that nothing is certain and admitted Austin's upcoming performances, combined with the club's monetary requirements, may play a part in deciding the player's future.
"Finances always dictate what clubs do. We would hope that he would stay but finances always dictate," Ramsey said.
"Our biggest thing would be that, if Charlie does well enough, that somebody comes in for him and gives the club the money that we need for our financial situation and Charlie gets the dream move that he wants to play at the highest level.
"If he can perform in a way that means that someone comes in and gets him it means the club would have benefitted from his performances and he will benefit as well."
