Leicester striker Jamie Vardy insists he is not feeling any pressure as he closes in on a Premier League scoring record.

The England striker's goal in Leicester's 3-2 victory over West Brom on Saturday extended his scoring run to eight successive league matches.

Ruud van Nistelrooy set the 10-game Premier League scoring record for Manchester United in 2003 and the Foxes face Watford and Newcastle in their next two outings.

Vardy is the league's 11-goal top scorer - after only netting five last season - but he is adamant Van Nistelrooy's achievement is not his focus.

"No, all that's at the back of my mind is getting a goal and three points," Vardy said.

"We're flying high and that's where we want to stay, we want to keep putting performances in and picking points up. It's as simple as that."

Leicester have won 10 points from losing positions this season, the best in the league, and have come from behind six times in an impressive start to the campaign which sees them sitting third in the table.

The Foxes again showed their resolve after Salomon Rondon's opener for West Brom and Vardy netted following two goals from Riyad Mahrez.

"I've had a few late goals so I'm happy this one went in," Vardy said.

"We've been going behind and having to do it the hard way. But the team's character and how we are means we know exactly what we have to do to get it back.

"Now we've got more points than we can ever dream of."
