Leicester striker Vardy can break Ruud Van Nistelrooy's Premier League scoring record this weekend

On his form...

Hard work and the players around me getting me into positions. This year I've managed to put them into the back of the net.

The first year we didn't really know what to expect [in the Premier League], it was quicker and more physical. The year of experience really does help you.

I did not really expect it, but I did not set myself any targets either. I just wanted to make sure I improved on last year, and I've managed to do that.

To get the 10 in a row is brilliant, but the main thing is the points for Leicester.

The Sunday Supplement panel discuss the rise of Vardy and Martin Samuel says his story makes his latest record even more special

I pinch myself every day anyway. Everyone knows the road I have had in the game, and how I have managed to get myself to where I am today. Obviously it has been tough, but it is nice to be among those names.

It would be unbelievable [to break the record], but I would only want to get another if we got the three points.

On Leicester's start...

We have kicked on from last year. Not much has been changed since the new boss came in, he saw how we were at the end of last season and basically wanted it to carry it on in the same way. He's seen the togetherness of the boys.

Going two goals down like we did a few times this season was nerve-racking. But we've nearly stopped that and kept a clean sheet on Saturday.

On Leicester's future...

Confidence is sky high, but we're also all very grounded. We know in football nothing can be taken for granted. That's why every week as soon as we finish the game, if we've got the three points we are straight away focusing on the next game and the training that goes into it.

The simple fact is the gaffer's target was 40 points. The players know that and we just want to get there as soon as possible and then re-evaluate it and see what the next objective is.

On Nigel Pearson and Claudio Ranieri...

It's credit to both of them. We had a good thing at the end of the season, obviously the managers have changed and that's down to the club. The new manager has come in and not changed much, but it has brought a benefit to the team which shows where we are at the moment.

When a new manager comes in it is all new players to him, but he's kept most of the old staff on, who can tell him where the strengths and weaknesses are. That's probably another reason why we are where we are.

On Leicester's unsung heroes...

Everyone said we were a hard-working team, and that shows on the pitch, but we have some quality in the team too. Riyad [Mahrez] has started brilliantly, I've managed to get some goals to my name.

But there are some unsung heroes who do not get a mention, Drinky [Danny Drinkwater] and [N'Golo] Kante in midfield, and the back four. It's going from strength to strength.

Drinky is like the puppet master, he wants to pull all the strings and it works for us. He's brilliant on the ball, has great vision for a pass.
