Marc Albrighton says if Roy Hodgson is going to pick his Euro 2016 England squad on form then Leicester team-mate Danny Drinkwater should be one of the first names on the list.

Hodgson will name his squad for friendlies against Germany and Netherlands on Thursday and midfielder Albrighton, who has also been one the stars of Leicester's season, insists he is not thinking about his own possible inclusion.

Neither he nor Drinkwater, 25, were not among the 40 players who attended Hodgson's get-together at St George's Park in February but the Three Lions boss has not ruled either's possible inclusion next month.

And Albrighton said of Drinkwater: "I don't see why he cant be in there. He has been fantastic for us, he has really come into his own.

"If people are going to be picked on form then he should be one of the first names on the squad list.

"Don't get me wrong, it would be a fantastic achievement for myself to be in there too but my concentration is on Leicester. It's far from my mind. I haven't thought about Euro 2016.

"Roy Hodgson has got a solid squad which he has had for a couple of years. There are some young lads in there, it would be a good squad whatever he takes. Hopefully they can do something.

"But as far as I'm concerned it's concentrate here and if I'm picked; fantastic. I would be as chuffed as anyone you could ever meet, but I won't be getting my hopes up."
