Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is unlikely to become the new manager at either Everton or Leicester.
Sky Sports News understands that Pellegrini has set his sights on a return to the Premier League with a club playing regular European football, and so he feels that neither the Toffees nor the Foxes fit the bill.
A move to Goodison is further hampered by the fact that relations between Pellegrini and the Everton owner Farhad Moshiri were soured after the Chilean was interviewed for the vacant job last May, shortly before they hired Ronald Koeman.
The 62-year old Pellegrini, who enjoyed three successful years at the Etihad, is also understood to be far from impressed with the depth of the squad assembled at King Power stadium.
And Sky Sports News understands that both Leicester and Everton's interest in Pellegrini would be increasingly difficult to progress because of his current £36m deal at Hebei China Fortune.
Pellegrini currently earns more than £12m a year in the Chinese Super League and he has two years left on his contract.
Sky Sports News has been told Leicester have intensified their managerial search in the wake of Koeman's dismissal from Everton on Monday, with Pellegrini among their considerations.
The Foxes sacked Craig Shakespeare a week ago and were initially satisfied that, in caretaker Michael Appleton, the squad was in good hands in the short-term. But they are now concerned they are looking at the same candidates as Everton, with Sean Dyche the frontrunner for both jobs.
David Unsworth has taken temporary charge of Everton and has confirmed his intention is to land the job full-time.
The two teams meet at the King Power Stadium this weekend and that game is part of a Nissan Super Sunday double-header.
