Leicester manager Claude Puel says it has been a good week for the club but insists the hard work must continue.

Claude Puel called for his Leicester side to continue their recent improvement after their 1-0 win over Burnley at the King Power Stadium.

The victory was Leicester's second at home in a week, meaning Puel has overseen just one defeat since taking the reins in the East Midlands and has steered the Foxes to ninth in the Premier League table.

Demarai Gray's early strike on Saturday was enough for the home side and Puel was impressed with what he saw, but called for more of the same against Newcastle next week.

"It has been a good week, but what was most important was that we continued our hard work," Puel said. "It was a difficult game against this team who were sixth in the table.

"I am very happy with our second half, for example. We had a lot of chances, but perhaps we needed to be more clinical.

"The result is a good reward for the players and their hard work. Now it is important to continue this work. There is a long way to go, but we need to continue to improve."

Gray's inclusion ahead of Shinji Okazaki was the only change made by Puel following the 2-1 midweek win against Tottenham, and the Leicester boss feels that the young forward can offer the Foxes a different dimension.

"I wanted to see Demarai in this place because I felt he can give opportunities different to Okazaki," Puel added. "I was pleased with Okazaki against Tottenham but I think it was interesting and encouraging to see Gray.

"Also we cannot play all the time with the same players, we need all the squad to play all these games.

"It was interesting to see him behind Jamie Vardy. He is a different fit to Okazaki. It is encouraging to see different players in these different situations and give them good game time. Okazaki was fantastic against Tottenham. It is great for Demarai too."
