Leicester City have confirmed the signing of former Portugal goalkeeper Ricardo until the end of the season.

Leicester City have confirmed the signing of former Portugal goalkeeper Ricardo until the end of the season. The 34-year-old shot-stopper has agreed a short-term contract at the Walkers Stadium after a trial with the Championship club. Foxes manager Sven-Goran Eriksson told the club's official website: "I am delighted we've been able to secure Ricardo on a permanent contract. "He has impressed during his time at the club and brings extra competition to our goalkeeping department. "Ricardo is an excellent shot-stopper with agility and he plays with great confidence. He has played at the highest level and will be a great addition to our squad." The former Real Betis custodian will not be eligible for the Championship clash against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.
