Claudio Ranieri has warned any potential suitors for Riyad Mahrez that the Leicester winger is not for sale at any price.

Mahrez has been in red-hot form at the start of the season, scoring four times in three Premier League games to help the Foxes climb to second in the table.

The Algeria international joined from Le Harve in 2014 and signed a new four-year contract in August and, ahead of the closure of the transfer window next week, Ranieri insisted Leicester will never be tempted to cash in.

"We don't sell him so there is no price," he said. "We won't sell him so it's much better if they (other clubs) don't ask.

"I look at Riyad when we don't have the ball, I'm trying to help him become the complete player, that is my job.

"I want to improve him in the offensive line. He is improving every day, it's important for him because he can get better. He's young and only 24."

Leicester head to Gigg Lane on Tuesday to play Bury in the Capital One Cup second round and Ranieri is expected to make wholesale changes to the team which drew 1-1 with Tottenham on Saturday.

Ex-Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler will make his full debut after coming off the bench on Saturday while Mark Schwarzer is set to replace Kasper Schmeichel in goal.

The in-form Foxes will be favourites to progress to the third round and Ranieri stressed the importance of keeping their unbeaten streak going.

"It is very important to be unbeaten," Ranieri said. "It is very important to achieve points at this moment because we will arrive at a bad moment and if you have a lot of points – that is much better."

With the end of the transfer window approaching, Ranieri revealed he is happy with the squad he has but did not rule out another signing if the right opportunity presents itself.

The Italian said: "I'm happy, happy. We will keep our eyes open and if something happens, great but if not, I'm happy."
