Swede Marcus Antonsson is on the verge of joining Championship club Leeds United.
The striker is having a medical at Elland Road on Monday, with a fee of £2m having already been agreed with his club Kalmar.
The 25-year-old has netted 10 goals in 12 games so far this season, in the top flight of Swedish football.
Antonsson is uncapped, having narrowly missed out on selection for Sweden's Euro 2016 squad.
Kalmar president Mattias Roselund refused to name the club, but said said an agreement was in place for the player to move to England from his homeland. "We are in agreement with a club.
"He will undergo a medical on Monday to check that nothing interferes with the process. That is what we are waiting for.
"We are satisfied with the agreement, that much I can say about it. It will be good for all parties. We've agreed and Antonsson has agreed with the club. Formally, it is not completed yet."
