Robert Green to stay with Leeds for 12 more months

Robert Green has extended his stay with Leeds after activating an appearance-based clause in his contact.

The former England goalkeeper will now remain with the Championship side until at least the end of next season.

Green joined Leeds last summer from QPR and has been a key player for Garry Monk's side.

The 37-year-old kept his 14th clean sheet when he made his 39th appearance this season on Saturday in the 2-0 win over Brighton.

He recently clocked up 600 league appearances and will be hoping to maintain his fine form as Leeds chase promotion.
