Whites striker extends loan at Brunton Park

Carlisle United have extended Mike Grella's loan from Leeds United until the end of the year. The American had just completed a month's loan with the Brunton Park outfit and impressed with two goals in six appearances. Grella played a key role in Saturday's 3-2 success over Southampton and now the club have moved to retain his services, although Leeds have the option of recalling him with 24 hours' notice. Manager Gregg Abbott has been pleased with Grella's impact and feels there is still plenty more to come from the 23-year-old marksman.

Excellent addition

"Mike has proved an excellent addition to the dressing room and squad since he arrived," Abbott told Carlisle's official website. "He brings something different and we think that there's still more to come from him. "We're very grateful to Leeds United for allowing us to keep him longer and hopefully he can benefit from getting regular first team football."
