Luton have won the race to sign Charlton striker Joe Pigott on loan.
The 22-year-old had been linked to the Hatters' Sky Bet League 2 rivals Oxford, Bristol Rovers and Stevenage but has instead linked up with Nathan Jones, his former Under-21 boss at Charlton.
Pigott spent the first half of the season on loan with Southend, scoring three League 1 goals and a brace in the 3-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory at Crawley.
Luton manager Jones told his club's official website: "I've worked before Joe before. He's an excellent young striker who has scored goals wherever he has been.
"He's been brought into the club because he is the type of player we want here. He fits all of our criteria and adds competition to an area we are already very strong in.
"I'm delighted to have been able to bring Joe here and the fact we have been able to beat other clubs to his signature speaks volumes about this club."
Maidstone-born Pigott joins former Bradford defender Alan Sheehan in becoming a January recruit at Kenilworth Road and will be in contention to face Notts County on Saturday.
