David Dunn has bolstered his attacking options at Oldham by acquiring Sheffield United's Michael Higdon on a three-month loan deal.
The Latics are in the Sky Bet League 1 relegation zone and have managed to score just seven times in eight fixtures, with last year's top-scorer Jonathan Forte currently suspended and ex-Wolves forward Jake Cassidy out with a long-term injury.
Higdon, 32, scored five times in 20 appearances for the Blades last term and has previously enjoyed prolific spells in Scotland with Motherwell and in Holland with NEC Nijmegen.
