Port Vale's goalkeeper Jak Alnwick faced brother and Peterborough goalkeeper Ben Alnwick as the two teams met in League One

It was an afternoon to remember for the Alnwick brothers at Vale Park on Saturday - in a thrilling tale of three penalties, two saves and a 1-1 draw.

Jak, 22, plays in goal for Port Vale and is the younger brother of Peterborough United stopper Ben and they were in opposition for the first time in their professional careers.

Ebo Andoh put Port Vale ahead shortly before the break and the home side had the chance to double their lead when Ben Alnwick brought down Andoh to concede a penalty.

Alnwick redeemed himself with a fine save to deny Michael O'Connor before Peterborough were awarded a penalty of their own and Michael Bostwick stepped up to beat Jak Alnwick and make it 1-1.

But the drama was not over as, with just five minutes left, Vale were awarded their second penalty of the game but remarkably Alnwick made another spectacular - if slightly more fortunate - save to deny Sam Foley.
