George Taft has returned to Burton after sustaining a knee injury which has cut short his loan at Cambridge.
The left-back suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during last Saturday's 3-2 win at Yeovil.
Taft wrote on Twitter: "A huge thank you & Best wishes to everybody at Cambridge United, great bunch of lads & club, would love to see them push on & get promotion."
