Sky Bet League One leaders Burton's title hopes suffered a setback as they fell to a 2-0 loss at Bradford.
Kyel Reid opened the scoring in the 13th minute and Reece Burke added a second before the interval.
Tony McMahon missed a penalty for the hosts 11 minutes from time, but it did not prove costly as Burton saw their lead over Wigan at the top of the table remain at four points.
The win moved Bradford to the brink of the play-off places, but Coventry's top-six hopes took a blow as they lost 2-1 at Shrewsbury.
Aaron Martin gave the Sky Blues a fourth-minute lead, but Sullay Kaikai levelled five minutes later and Shaun Whalley headed the winner just before half-time.
Elsewhere, Scunthorpe beat struggling Doncaster 2-0 thanks to goals early in each half from Tom Hopper and David Mirfin.
