Barnsley strikers Sam Winnall and Marley Watkins face late fitness tests before Sunday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Oxford.
Caretaker head coach Paul Heckingbottom will give Winnall (hip) and Watkins (calf) as long as possible before naming his starting line-up.
On-loan trio Callum Connolly, Ashley Fletcher and Lloyd Isgrove have all returned unscathed from international duty and are in contention.
Defender James Bree shook off a hamstring problem in time to return as an unused substitute in Monday's win at Port Vale and is pushing for a recall, but Ryan Williams (groin) remains a long-term absentee.
Oxford manager Michael Appleton has said he will not risk the fitness of Johnny Mullins and Joe Skarz, with important matches to come in his side's chase for automatic promotion.
Mullins and Skarz will be assessed in training on Friday after they picked up hip and groin injuries respectively in Monday's goalless draw at Cambridge.
Midfielder John Lundstram is unavailable as he serves the second of a three-match suspension and Ryan Taylor is also out with a groin injury.
Oxford are in good form, sitting second in League Two, having lost only once in nine league matches.
