Nile Ranger charged with fraud and money laundering offences

Former Premier League striker Nile Ranger has been charged with fraud and money laundering offences.

The 25-year-old Southend United player is accused of conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering in February last year.

The Metropolitan Police said the offences relate to the obtaining of a vulnerable person's bank account details by phone with a view to getting hold of their money.

Ranger was charged on Monday and is to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court in London on Wednesday.
