Sheffield United maintained their lead at the top, while AFC Wimbledon battled to an historic 2-0 win over MK Dons at Kingsmeadow in Sky Bet League One on Tuesday night.

It was the first time AFC Wimbledon were hosting MK Dons in the league, and it was a night to remember for the home fans as they ran out 2-0 winners thanks to second-half goals from Jake Reeves and Lyle Taylor.

Leaders Sheffield United maintained their eight-point gap at the top with a thrilling 4-2 victory at Swindon Town.

The Blades were 2-0 up at half-time thanks to goals from Caolan Lavery and Kieron Freeman, but Swindon were level just eight minutes into the second half thanks to Charlie Colkett and Ben Gladwin strikes.

Jay O'Shea was gifted Sheffield United’s third goal against Swindon following a moment to forget for goalkeeper Will Henry.

However, United hit back through Jay O'Shea after a mistake from goalkeeper Will Henry, while Paul Coutts sealed the three points from the penalty spot late on.

Second-placed Fleetwood Town edged past Walsall 1-0 thanks to Cian Bolger's strike midway through the first half, and they remain a point ahead of Bolton, who ran out 4-0 winners at Gillingham.

David Wheater, Adam Le Fondre and Mark Beevers handed Bolton an unassailable 3-0 lead, while Josh Vela got their fourth and final goal just after half-time.

Meanwhile, Bradford could only draw 1-1 at Charlton as Timothee Diend levelled after Jorge Teixeira's opener, meaning they slip down to fifth.

Southend moved to within a point of the play-offs with a 2-0 win at bottom club Coventry. Early goals from Nile Ranger and Ryan Leonard handed the visitors a first win in four games.

Bristol Rovers lost ground on the play-offs however, losing 3-0 at Bury, with Stuart Sinclair sent off in the first half after receiving two yellows for simulation.

An entertaining game at the Proact Stadium saw Chesterfield draw 3-3 with Peterborough, while two Lee Erwin goals either side of Chris Maguire's penalty handed Oldham Athletic a 2-1 win at home to Oxford United.
