Former Royals defender to join Stockport

Stockport County will sign Johnny Mullins on 1st July after agreeing a two-year deal with the right-back. The Hatters have already agreed a compensation package with Mansfield, who were relegated to the Blue Square Premier this summer, for the 22-year-old former Reading defender. Mullins was the Stags' Player of the Year at Field Mill and the youngster now hopes his energy and attacking play will benefit Stockport from next season.

Welcoming

"The people I've met at the club have been very welcoming," he told the club's official website. "The assistant manager, Peter Ward, took me up to Manor Farm (Stockport's training ground) to have a look. It's excellent, I've really liked what I've seen. "I work hard, I'm a right-back that likes to get forward, help the attackers, get up and down the line, so hopefully I can bring something to the team. "I'm just really looking forward to getting started and climb the league table from the off."
