Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony will not appoint a new manager before this Saturday’s game with Walsall but has cut his unnamed shortlist to two candidates.

MacAnthony sacked manager Dave Robertson earlier this month following a poor start to the new season in League One, with the Posh winning just one of their first six league matches.

Former Stevenage manager Graham Westley is currently the bookies' favourite to replace Robertson at the ABAX Stadium, while Rotherham boss Steve Evans has also been linked with the post

Peterborough won their first match without Robertson, thrashing Oldham Athletic 5-1 at Boundary Park last Saturday.

Robertson became Peterborough's caretaker manager in February following the departure of Darren Ferguson. He was officially appointed as the club's permanent boss in May, signing a three-year contract.

His stay at the club, however, was ended just four months into that deal. Robertson won eight of his 23 matches in charge.
