Bristol City defender Joe Bryan is helping a local amateur footballer with the cost of his rehabilitation after a serious leg break.
Chris Corner, who plays for Nailsea and Tickenham in the 11th tier of English football, suffered the injury while playing, something that has also had repercussions for him off the pitch.
Corner, a self-employed builder, has been unable to work since the leg-break and was facing financial hardship in the run-up to Christmas.
But Robins left-back Bryan stepped in to assist after hearing about his plight on social media and has helped fund private physiotherapy sessions for him.
