Bristol City have bolstered their squad by signing former Preston striker Andy Smith.

Bristol City have bolstered their squad by signing former Preston striker Andy Smith.

Smith arrives on a free transfer after having his contract at Preston cancelled last month.

The Northern Ireland international has penned a two-month deal at Ashton Gate.

Robins boss Gary Johnson is a big admirer of Smith and is delighted to have signed him.

"I tried to sign Andy once before but Championship clubs came calling and he joined Preston," Johnson told the club's official website.

"He has been training with us for a week before signing a contract. He's hard-working and can also play wide."
