Nottingham Forest make approach for Nigel Clough - Sky sources

Nottingham Forest have approached Burton Albion over permission to speak to Nigel Clough about the vacant manager's job, Sky sources understand.
The move comes 37 years after his father, the legendary Brian Clough, won back-to-back European Cups with Nottingham Forest.
Forest officials are understood to have contacted Burton on Wednesday to put forward a formal request to speak to Nigel Clough, but permission has not yet been given.
Clough spent Thursday away from the club with family in the north of England, and although he is yet to comment, he is understood to be in a dilemma over the possible return to Forest.
He spent nine years playing under his father at Forest, making 324 appearances between 1984 and 1993, and won two League Cup titles.
Despite an emotional connection to Forest, the 50-year-old also remains loyal to Burton chairman Ben Robinson, who gave Clough the opportunity to reignite his managerial career at the Pirelli Stadium just 13 months ago.
As yet there has been no comment from neither Burton nor Nottingham Forest.
Clough took over from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Burton, who currently sit 22nd in the Championship, five points behind 19th-placed Forest.
