Bennett re-enters Forest

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Walsall defender Julian Bennett.

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Walsall defender Julian Bennett for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old returns to the club that initially rejected him as a schoolboy at 14, with Bennett signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with Gary Megson's side.

The Nottingham-born player, who can play at centre back or left back, says he has no hard feelings about his Forest exit seven years ago.

"I'm not bitter about being released by Forest," Bennett told the club's official website.

"Why should I be? I'm a Forest player now and that's all that matters.

"It's amazing how things have worked out. I'm back with my hometown club and it feels fantastic.

"There were other teams showing an interest in me, teams from The Championship.

"But once I became aware of Forest's interest, there was no question of me going anywhere but The City Ground."
