Yeovil Town's League Two game with Crawley was held up for more than 10 minutes on Saturday when a drone appeared over Huish Park.

With the scores level at 1-1 in the 81st minute, referee Brett Huxtable took the players off the pitch for reasons of safety, after the drone was spotted flying above the stadium.

A statement from Yeovil Town FC read: "Correctly following the agreed protocol, officials removed the players from the field of play for safety reasons, incurring an 11-minute delay.

"As part of the club's own protocol regarding security concerns, stewards and security staff were deployed across the Huish Park site to investigate.

"The club will now continue to work with Avon & Somerset Police as the investigation continues."

During an eventful match, two Yeovil players were shown red cards before half-time, with the nine-man hosts eventually losing 2-1.
