Kyle Naughton has won his appeal against the three-game ban following his red card in the 4-2 defeat to Sunderland in midweek.

The former Tottenham full-back was shown a straight red card by referee Graham Scott after appearing to win the ball from Yann M'Vila in a challenge in which he led with his studs and kicked the ball with the sole of his foot.

The incident occurred on 31 minutes at the Liberty Stadium with the score 1-1 and although Andre Ayew gave the hosts the lead three minutes later, they went on to suffer a damaging defeat to their fellow strugglers.

The successful appeal to the Independent Regulatory Commission hearing means Naughton will now be free to play Watford, Everton and West Brom in the Premier League.

Swansea boss Alan Curtis was highly critical of Scott after the game, saying: "When you go down to 10 men - I think we played probably close to an hour with 10 men - that's the one that really sort of killed us and affected us more than anything.

"I thought at the time it was a really harsh decision and when you look at it again, he clearly wins the ball and it's another major decision that the referee got wrong."
