Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin was forced to miss Wednesday's game against Arsenal with a chest infection, the club have confirmed.
The 60-year-old has been struggling with a chest infection for over a week and after failing to respond fully to medical treatment, was referred to a respiratory specialist at a London hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
A club statement said: "The specialist felt that the best course of action was for Guidolin to remain in hospital for a few days to receive further treatment.
"He is in a comfortable position and is expected to recover fully in a few days. Everyone at Swansea City wishes him a speedy recovery."
Assistant manager Alan Curtis was in charge in Guidolin's absence as Swansea claimed a shock 2-1 win over the Gunners.
The victory boosted Swansea's hopes of survival as it opened up a six point gap above the drop zone ahead of three key three games against relegation rivals after Wednesday's visit to the Emirates.
The Welsh side host Norwich City on Saturday before a trip to Bournemouth on March 12 and then hosting bottom club Aston Villa visit the Liberty Stadium on March 19.
