Spain international striker Fernando Llorente has joined Swansea City on a two-year deal from Sevilla.

The 31-year-old makes the move to the Liberty Stadium for an undisclosed fee and could make his debut in a pre-season friendly against French side Rennes on Saturday.

Llorente spent just one season with the Spanish side, scoring seven goals in 31 appearances after spending the previous two years in Italy with Juventus, where he won two Serie A titles.

He had spent the majority of his career with Athletic Bilbao before the move to Turin, scoring more than 100 goals for the Basque side.

Llorente has won 24 caps for Spain, although the last of those came in 2013, and he was part of the squad that won the World Cup in 2010 and European Championship in 2012.

"I am very happy to join Swansea," Llorente told the official club website. "I have scored goals in La Liga and Serie A, and now I want to score a lot of goals for the club in the Premier League.

"I want to score a lot of goals like Michu. He is a very good player and he did very well here."

Llorente said he is looking forward to playing for Swansea's Italian coach Francesco Guidolin having scored against his Udinese side in the 2013-14 season when he was at Juventus.

"He is a very good trainer and I am very happy to be working with him," added Llorente.

"I know him from my time playing in Italy. He is very experienced and has done really well at the clubs he has managed."
