On-loan defender feels manager has helped him to improve
Swansea City's on-loan defender Steve Caulker has heaped praise on manager Brendan Rodgers following a stunning first season in the Premier League.
The South Wales club have impressed in the top flight since gaining promotion last season and are on course for a mid-table finish.
Rodgers has won many plaudits during the course of the season for his side's attacking style of play and Caulker, enjoying a season-long loan from Tottenham, believes the Swansea boss has helped him develop his game at the Liberty Stadium.
"I came over here in pre-season as a centre-back and he has helped transform me into a ball-playing centre-back now," Caulker told
Sky Sports.
Enthusiasm
"The boys love the sessions that he puts on every day in training and he brings so much energy and enthusiasm into the club every day.
"There is no doubt that he is a great manager and he deserves all the plaudits that come his way."
The Swans could still play a part in this season's title race, as they visit Old Trafford on Sunday to face a deflated Manchester United following Monday's crushing local derby defeat and Caulker is keen to end the campaign on a high.
He added: "It has been a great season here, but beating one of the top four away would be the icing on the cake and we'll go to Old Trafford hoping to make that happen.
"If we can manage a result there then it would be a great way to end a fantastic season."
