Doncaster Rovers release five first-team players

Doncaster Rovers have released five first-team players and made a further five available for transfer following their promotion to League One.

Paul Keegan, Gary McSheffrey, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, Joe Pugh and Joey McCormick will leave the club at the end of their contracts.

Midfielder Keegan was the second longest serving senior player at the club after joining in 2011.

Ross Etheridge, Cedric Evina, Mitchell Lund, Harry Middleton and Andy Williams have all been made available for transfer.

Conor Grant has returned to parent club Everton after his loan expired, while second-year scholars Lloyd Henderson, Josh Barker and Matthew Gains will not be offered professional deals and have left the club.

Rovers completed their first signing of the summer on Monday with Niall Mason agreeing a permanent move from Aston Villa on a two-year deal.

The 20-year-old made 42 appearances on loan for Rovers this season with the club paying an undisclosed fee to the Championship side.
