Huddersfield, Scunthorpe and Walsall are interested in signing Gillingham midfielder Josh Wright, according to Sky sources.
The 26-year-old, who joined Gillingham last summer on a free transfer, has been offered a new two-year deal to remain at the League One Club.
But Sky sources understand Wright is yet to agree terms on a contract that would keep him at the Priestfield Stadium until June 2018.
If a deal is not struck, Wright would be able to leave on a free transfer.
Wright made 44 appearances during the 2015-16 season and captained Justin Edinburgh's side on numerous occasions in the absence of former club skipper Doug Loft.
Huddersfield manager David Wagner is keen to bolster his squad ahead of his first full season at the Championship club and has identified Wright as a target.
Wright spent two years with Scunthorpe between 2009 and 2011, making 81 appearances for the club and scoring once - a stunning long-range strike against Manchester United in the League Cup.
He left to join Millwall and subsequently spent time at Leyton Orient and Crawley before signing for Gillingham.
Walsall, who confirmed the appointment of Jon Whitney as their manager on Wednesday, are also keen on Wright and could offer him the chance to join the club.
