David Wagner is staying as Huddersfield Town manager with a new contract agreed in principle, according to Sky sources.

It is understood the 45-year-old German had offers from other clubs in the Bundesliga and the Premier League, but he feels he has more still to achieve with Huddersfield.

The Terriers secured promotion last week, after a penalty shoot-out victory over Reading in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Wagner's agent, John Morris, had talks with chairman Dean Hoyle last week, when the deal was thrashed out. It will be signed in the coming days.

Morris told SSNHQ: "David and I have received approaches from other clubs in Germany and England but we felt that the journey with Huddersfield has another story to tell.
