Rotherham will find out early next week whether boss Neil Warnock will stay on at the club.
The Millers are desperate for the 67-year-old to continue his good work in South Yorkshire after he pulled off the great escape by keeping them in the Sky Bet Championship and he held a second round of talks with chairman Tony Stewart on Thursday.
Warnock has been non-committal over his future but has spoken openly of his desire to achieve a record-breaking eighth promotion, something he would be unlikely to do at Rotherham.
But the Millers are confident that Warnock will stay at the New York Stadium after Stewart spoke of "positive" talks.
He said: "The meeting was positive and we hope to make an announcement early next week."
Warnock initially joined the Millers in February, replacing Neil Redfearn on a deal until the end of the season, and was handed a 16-game brief to keep the club out of relegation trouble.
That is a task he passed with flying colours, masterminding an 11-game unbeaten run which saw him named March manager of the month.
The veteran, who was lured out of retirement by Stewart, has said he will do one more year in management and has a burning desire to earn another promotion, which he has admitted has been the only reason he has not already committed to the Millers.
