Bees youngster signs on

Brentford youngster Darius Charles has pledged his future to the club.

The 19-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with an option for an additional year.

"I'm really pleased that the gaffer wanted to sign me up on a two-year deal - he's done the same with a few of the other younger players and it means a lot to me," Charles told the club's website.

"I didn't think I had the best of seasons but I know I've got it in me to play better - I want to do everything I can to win a regular first-team place.

"I don't like sitting on the bench and it can get frustrating to have a run in the side, only for a regular to return from injury or suspension and replace you. My aim is to be that regular, and have someone else sitting on the bench!"
