Carlisle have decided not to appeal against goalkeeper Mark Gillespie's dismissal during Tuesday night's Sky Bet League Two defeat at AFC Wimbledon.

Gillespie was sent off five minutes after the break in his side's 1-0 reverse at the Cherry Red Records Stadium after referee Darren Deadman ruled that he had denied a goalscoring opportunity as he and striker Tom Elliott closed on a long ball.

Manager Keith Curle said after the game that the club would decide whether or not to appeal the decision after reviewing the incident.

But a statement released via the club's official twitter account on Wednesday said: "We can confirm there will be no appeal against the red card shown to @markjgillespie at Wimbledon last night. One match suspension follows."
