Ricky Holmes netted the winner in the fifth minute of injury time as Northampton recovered from two goals down to beat lowly Stevenage 3-2.

The runaway Sky Bet League 2 leaders appeared to be deep in trouble, following a brace of Luke Wilkinson headers inside half-an-hour.

His first after 11 minutes followed Dean Parrett's corner, while the second arrived via Jerome Okimo's long free-kick, taken from inside the Stevenage half.

However, the Cobblers responded four minutes before the break when a Nicky Adams free-kick was headed home by the unmarked James Collins..

And six minutes into the second half, Northampton were level when Joel Byrom's corner eventually reached John-Joe O'Toole who fired home from close range.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute as Fraser Franks was sent off for pulling down Sam Hoskins.

And deep into injury-time, Holmes found the top left-hand corner of the net from the edge of the box after latching on to Brendon Moloney's assist. Northampton are 11 points clear at the top with nine matches remaining.
