Former Portsmouth, QPR and Crystal Palace boss Paul Hart has joined Luton as the club's new assistant manager.

The 62-year-old watched from the stands as the Hatters lost 2-0 at Sky Bet League Two champions Northampton on Saturday and took a light training session on Tuesday.

Hart was most recently the academy director at Leeds - a position he left last month.

"It feels great to be here. I've been looking forward to this and I feel very lucky," Hart told the club's official website.

"I've had 45 years in football and to come to a prestigious club like Luton, especially in this position as assistant manager, is great. I'm very lucky."

"Obviously I knew (manager) Nathan (Jones) from our time at Charlton, and I knew Mick Harford. I spoke to Gary Sweet about the organisation above the football, and I was very impressed.

"It feels great to come to a place that has a pathway to future success.

"My priority over the summer will be to make sure that our pre-season is bang-on and we get exactly what we can from that and that we're flying when we come back.

"The size of the support at Luton is incredible and we're looking to give the supporters quality, winning football."

Luton go into their final game of the season, at home to Exeter on Saturday, 14th in the League Two table. Victory could see the Hatters finish the campaign as high as ninth.
