Morecambe and Colchester have the chance of securing an awards double after the nominations were confirmed for the Sky Bet League Two Manager and Player Awards for August.
Shrimps boss Jim Bentley guided his side to four wins from five games during the month as they set the early pace in the division, with the 3-2 win at Accrington where they came from two-down to claim victory the pick of the bunch.
Morecambe goalkeeper Barry Roche earned a nomination in the player category on the back of a series of outstanding performances during August.
Roche was in good form in the wins against Yeovil (1-0) and Accrington but he eclipsed those performances with a series of breathtaking saves in the 2-0 victory over Portsmouth.
Colchester are looking to bounce straight back after relegation from League One last season and they have begun well under new manager John McGreal.
His first month in charge proved a productive one with three wins and a draw from five games.
McGreal quickly instilled solidity in defence with only five league goals conceded, in contrast to the 99 they shipped last season.
U's winger Brennan Dickenson has also swiftly become a firm favourite at the Weston Homes Community Stadium after scoring three goals and an assist in his first five games at the club.
Elsewhere in the Manager of the Month category, Luton boss Nathan Jones continued to rebuild the squad he inherited in January as he led the Hatters to 10 points from five games and second place in the table.
Victories for Jones' side included 3-0 away victories away to Plymouth and Cambridge.
Mansfield's Adam Murray is the final manager nominated after he picked up where he left off last season, with his side taking a 10-point haul from their opening five fixtures, which included away victories at Newport and Leyton Orient.
In the player's category, Doncaster midfielder James Coppinger has been in impressive form having been handed the captain's armband this season.
He scored a superb equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Crawley, one of two August goals to go with three assists.
Meanwhile, Crewe winger Alex Kiwomya also enjoyed a productive month as he secured a place in the starting line-up having begun the season on the bench.
The 20-year-old's exciting dribbling skills and clinical finishing saw him score stunning individual goals at Stevenage and Newport.
