Carrilho leaves MK Dons

Milton Keynes Dons have released Dutch defender Mirano Carrilho.

Milton Keynes Dons have released Dutch defender Mirano Carrilho from his short-term contract.

The experienced 30-year-old ends a seven-week spell with Danny Wilson's side after initially joining the League One club in late August.

The former Ajax, De Graafschap, ADO Den Haag, AZ Alkmaar, FC Dordrecht and Rottweis Essen player made just one start and three substitute appearances for MK Dons.

After taking a closer look at the defender, Wilson has decided not to keep him on and allowed Carrilho to find pastures new.

With one defender leaving The National Hockey Stadium, another looks set to return to full training next week in the form of club captain Ben Chorley.

The 23-year-old is nearing a full recovery from a persistent thigh strain that has sidelined him for the last six weeks.

The former Arsenal trainee will have treatment at Lilleshall next week before returning to action.
